Hi there, and thanks so much for taking a moment to get to know me! I’m Jen Miller, the creator behind From the Counselor’s Office and a passionate school counselor turned digital content creator.

I’ve known since I was little that I wanted to work in education. I started out teaching 1st and 2nd grade and quickly fell in love with the boundless energy (and sweet chaos!) of first graders. Not long into my teaching journey, I felt a deeper pull to support students in a more personal way. That led me back to school to earn my Master’s in Counselor Education, and becoming a school counselor felt like finding my true calling.

Since then, I’ve had the joy of supporting students in elementary, middle, and even high school settings. Helping kids grow socially and emotionally is truly where my heart is. Along the way, life brought me one of its biggest surprises: triplet boys. After some time away on maternity leave, I returned to my favorite place, working with elementary and middle schoolers. These days, I’m right where I belong, back in an elementary school and showing up each day to help kids grow, thrive, and feel seen.

At home, I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for over 23 years. Our triplets are heading into their sophomore year of high school and will soon be driving themselves to school (which still feels wild to say out loud). This summer, we also added a new furry family member, Dixie, our 6-month-old Sheepadoodle. She’s convinced she’s part rabbit and shows it by hopping around the house whenever she’s excited.

I opened my Teachers Pay Teachers store in 2016, but I began pouring real energy into it in 2022. My mission is simple: to create SEL and counseling resources that are meaningful, standards-aligned, and designed to work in real schools with real students. Every product I offer has been tested in the field and continues to evolve based on what educators actually need.
