Hi there, and thanks so much for taking a moment to get to know me! I’m Jen Miller, the creator behind From the Counselor’s Office and a passionate school counselor turned digital content creator.
 
I’ve known since I was little that I wanted to work in education. I started out teaching 1st and 2nd grade, and I quickly fell in love with the boundless energy (and sweet chaos!) of first graders. But not long into my teaching journey, I felt a deeper pull—one that led me back to school to earn my Master’s in Counselor Education. Becoming a school counselor felt like finding my true calling.

Since then, I’ve had the joy of serving students in elementary, middle, and even high school settings. Supporting kids’ social and emotional growth is truly where my heart is. Along the way, life brought me one of its biggest surprises—triplet boys! After some time away on maternity leave, I returned to my favorite place: working with elementary and middle schoolers. These days, I’m right where I belong, back in an elementary school, showing up each day to help kids grow, thrive, and feel seen.

At home, I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 22 years, and together we’re navigating life with three high school freshmen this fall (yes, all at once!). Our Cavachon, Mollie, is the sweetest sidekick who keeps me company while I work—usually curled up by my feet.

I opened my Teachers Pay Teachers store in 2016, but really began pouring energy into it in 2022. My mission is simple: to create SEL and counseling resources that are meaningful, standards-aligned, and actually work in real schools with real students. Every product I offer has been tested in the field and continues to evolve based on what educators truly need.
